I was thinking about doing a WITCH card game for myself and would love your opinion.
I love to come up with new stuff and I'm a big fan of those Storycubes that some of you may or may not know.
And I totally adored the old card sets of WITCH that you could use for divination and stuff.

UPDATE:
This is a first version of the original back of the Transfiguration Cards.
I tried to get as close to the original from the comics as possible.
I also started studying other symbols reappearing in the comics over time and did make some interesting discoveries

So I'm currently thinking about creating a storytelling card game for myself of WITCH.
The idea for the game is something like this:
There are three types of cards:
World cards, guardian/character cards and action cards.
Before each round one of the world cards is being drawn and determines the setting of the following adventure.
World cards will be for example: Kandrakar, Earth, Arkhanta, Basiliade, Meridian, etc.
Then every player picks a guardian card at random.
The guardian cards will symbolize the 6 aurameres for water, fire, earth, air, energy and spirit (Orube)
I was thinking about adding light and dark but for now stuck to these 6.
If you pick the fire card for example you can play Taranee or a made-up character who has the power of fire.
Theoretically you could also just play a human character who had some traumatic experience with fire or has firy-red hair.
The only limit is your imagination!
Now the players are set and the game can begin!
Let's say player A starts the first round. Player A picks up 5 action cards and has to at least use 3 of them to start the adventure. After player A is finished, he/she draws new action cards until there are 5 on hi/her hand again. Then it's player B's turn. Player B also uses up 3-5 of his/her action cards to continue the story AND at some point has to introduce his/her own character into the story. This whole process continues until one of the players finishes the story, you decide to halt or stop the story at a point or you draw the "Sudden Death" card.
Once every player has had a turn, player A starts the next round by drawing action cards until he/she's got 5 on the hand again and continues the story.
Should you draw "useless" cards you can exchange 3 of your cards on the hand for one new of the stack before you start your story.
The action cards can be of two kinds:
Danger cards: Imprisoned (you or someone else is imprisoned); Broken Spell (Your magic is broken and can't cast any "spells"); Eyes in the dark (something lurks in the shadows, watching, attacking?); Nature's caprices (sudden weather change - storm/rain/snow/heat/etc.); Sudden Light! (You're blinded by a sudden light); Curse of the Divine (your next moves against your enemy will be forseen), etc.
Luck cards: Gift of a nymph (you get a new power!); spiritual guide (you get assistance from your spiritual guide in animal form); Unison (you're super united with... your teammates/your inner self/ your element/etc.); Good Equipment (you're prepared for everything!); Mighty maps (Thanks to good maps you know exactly where you're going!), etc.
The above are just examples of what I was thinking about. There might be smaller things like quick sand or someone knocking over a table or spilling drinks or losing an object or finding a rope or whatever. So there would be quite some action cards. Some more powerful and others rather "lame" and not so very powerful. Though it always depends on what you use it for. So it's up to your creativity.
Sudden Death
Just a fun idea I had: If this card is being drawn by any of the players it will be placed in the middle for everyone to see and the players have to finish the story or at least their character's part in it within the round. So if there are three players (A, B and C) and C picks the card he has to finish the story or at least somehow drop his character out of it. Maybe through death, maybe through a "I don't want to be part of this". Maybe through obduction or sudden disappearance, an accident making it impossible to continue in the adventure; having to return home to another planet, etc.
Okay! So much for my idea.
I just wanted to ask you guys what you think of that and if you have some ideas to share what kinds of actions or twists, characters or worlds etc YOU would put in there.

Little Update on things
I said I'd be more active on DA and that was initially the idea. However since that proclamation of mine the only new art I see is... AI art. It's EVERYWHERE and there's no way to tell if the people behind the art are actually putting in effort (which some do) or if they just randomly entered key words and then posted their stuff online. Most of them even have tip jars.... Which they are allowed to have but... hmpf. Where have all the old fashioned artists gone? I suppose that's what people felt like back when digital drawing came along. Suddenly I feel like I'm some old geezer complaining about kids today not wanting to put in effort - or like someone from a dying breed on the brink of extinction. In all honest truth I'm simply too lazy at the moment to move away from DA... so I'll stick around for the time being and just watch what happens. Maybe it's just a current hype and in some months more things will even out again? If not... I can still go looking for other places to post my
My 5 cents on the AI topic
I'm a little late with this but I wanted to be sure to understand all angles of this debate to be able to make a proper statement myself. This will basically just be a ... thought dump of mine. I will just drop my conclusions here and if someone reads them: Nice! But if not, it still will have helped me to process things :D . Maybe you're tired of hearing about this or are like me when I first was confronted with this and don't understand why so many artists across platforms are rioting. If so, please consider watching this video by Sam Does Arts. It's (in my opinion) a calm and in-depth explanation of the situation that helped me too to understand the whole issue better. OKAY! So! Here's some thoughts of mine concerning the matter: --- There's a summary at the end in case you wanna skip ahead To me, this whole AI issue has three dimensions or... subtopics if you will: AI and Deviantart AI boycott movement by artists AI in general as part of the artistic community AI on
A promise of activity :D
Hey heeey you guys! It's been so long! With the change of jobs early this year and the death of one of my rabbits, I've been in a slump over summer until I decided to not draw at all until I really felt like it again. That took roughly 6-8 weeks (which is super long for my taste) but it was a necessary break and I'm really happy that all of you were so supportive and understanding during that time. We also managed to take a short trip to Italy for a change of scene after almost 2 years within the same 4 walls that helped me gain new inspiration and boost my creativity. After this break I went with whatever I felt like to slowly built back up to my original form. I tried myself on animation (which was cool - definitely doing that again sometime!), finished writing part 2 of the Halloween story that I will release later this month and continued working out details of the Sovereigns comic, flesh out concepts for the new worlds the girls will visit, worked on some cool new objects
W.i.t.c.h. Halloween Special release on Halloween!
Some of you might still remember my poll from last year where I asked about what type of Halloween story I should be writing. Well, it's one year later and the story is finally ready for publishing! I present to you this year's Halloween Special! As you may know, Halloween is pretty much my favourite time of year and I love writing spooky stories featuring new threats and chills for a nightly read! I've been planning this one for quite some time, wondering if it should be the second issue of the Sovereign fan comic or a separate story. After much back and forth I decided on a short novel mostly because I wanted to focus my artistic time and energy on the comics main story and not on a special. Instead this is a written short story that will hold around 50-70 pages featuring our lovely W.i.t.c.h. girls along with my OC Maze, being confronted with one... no TWO new types of evil in town that need battling. The story's divided into three parts: Dark Night White Light Strange

Sounds awesome, I'd definitely try out such a game!
